John Smith's Day First Out The Stalls For Brighton's Three Day August Festival

Wed, Jul 10, 2013

The three day Brighton Racecourse Festival kicks off on Wednesday 7th August with John Smith's Raceday featuring one of the highlights of the season at Brighton, the John Smith's Brighton Mile. The race for three year olds and upwards has a total prize fund of £20,000 and is likely to attract some top specialist milers from around the country.

Stuart Dorn, General Manager at Brighton Racecourse reported, "We're delighted to welcome John Smith's back to Brighton for what is their 13th year of sponsorship of the John Smith's Brighton mile. It's a hugely popular race and always attracts some very good horses. We have a great programme of events lined up for all three days and if we can keep this wonderful weather it will be a great atmosphere with some very competitive racing."

The three day festival stages Frost's Ladies Day on Thursday 8th August with some amazing prizes for the best dressed competitions including a black and white diamond necklace.
Friday 9th August, the final day of Brighton's three day Festival, is already sold out in most hospitality areas as popular band Scouting for Girls take to the stage after racing as part of their August ARC racecourse group tour. This final day, known as Fundraising Friday will be supporting 'The Teenage Cancer Trust', 'Crohn's in Childhood Research Association' and Children's education charity 'Whoopsadaisy'.
