Results of the Connelly's Red Mills Leading Trainers Championship

Now the flat season has come to a close at Brighton Racecourse we are proud to announce the results of the Connelly's Red Mills Leading Trainers Championship.

The first three placings with more than 30 horses in training is as follows:

William Knight (110 points)
Gary Moore (84 points)
David Simcock (76 points)


Congratulations to William Knight, who had a great season here at Brighton Racecourse, the highlight being Beacon Lady, the four-year-old that won four times here in three months.


The first three placings with less than 30 horses in training is as follows:

Violet Jordan (85 points)
George Margarson (80 points)
Pat Phelan (76 points)


A very tight leader board, with only 9 points separating the top three trainers. Violat Jordon, based at Moreton Morrell trained three winners during the season.

The prize for each championship is 2 x tonnes of Red Mills or Tendrleen horse feed.

Please see below the rules and point system for the Connelly's Red Mills series:

The winner in each race receives 10 points(apprentice-ridden receives an extra 10 points). The second in each race receives 5 points. The third in each race receives 2 points.

There are two championships. The first is for stables with 30+ horses and the second is for stables with up to 30 horses to give the smaller trainer a chance to win.
