Brighton Makes History For Free!

Thu, Mar 20, 2008

Brighton Racecourse is making history by opening its doors to the nation's racegoers on Sunday, 13 April... for free!

The Racecourse is offering free admission to members of any UK racecourse for its meeting on Sunday, 13 April, which has been transferred to the popular Sussex track from Great Leighs.

Matt Hudson, general manager, said: ""We like a challenge so we've decided make this a first by providing free admission for members of all 59 racecourses. We'd like to think we're doing our bit to bring the industry together!

"It should be a great afternoon of racing and a fantastic opportunity for us to showcase what we can do at the beginning of what will be our 225th year of racing.

"We're very proud of what we've already achieved here - and the positive coverage we've received from people like David Ashforth and Alan Lee (The Times) - but we're always striving to improve and we believe this season will be our biggest and best ever."

For those racing fans that are not racecourse members but are interested in making a visit to the seaside, tickets are available for £10 including a complimentary race programme. There will be a single enclosure on the day with visitors enjoying full access to the Racecourse's facilities.

Members of other UK racecourses that would like to claim their free tickets should call 01273 603580 and ask to speak to a member of their racing team. Alternatively, they should email with their name, address, contact phone number, the name of the racecourse they are a member of and their membership number.
