Gatwick Airport Family Fun Raceday Preview

Fri, Aug 29, 2014

Brighton Racecourse stages their Gatwick Airport Family Fun Raceday on Sunday with the first of seven races due off at 14.00. 9 of the ten entries in the Handicap are previous distance winners, including the Mark Brisbourne-trained Storm Lightening, who ran well last time out when second at Wolverhampton, and could go one better under Cam Hardie. Also entered in the race is Secret Missile, a nicely bred son of Sakhee's Secret: he is a front runner who has been performing very consistently in his last few outings for trainer Willie Muir, and could go well again tomorrow with Martin Dwyer in the saddle.

Brighton's leading Owner and Trainer, John Bridger, is represented by two runners at the meeting; Choral Festival in the EBF/ Family Friendly Gatwick Airport Fillies Handicap, who won last time out at Royal Windsor and is reunited with winning jockey William Carson tomorrow, whilst Byrd In Hand runs in the Gatwick Airport Supports Chestnut Tree House Apprentice Handicap and is the mount of Charles Bishop. Also entered in the Apprentice Handicap is Luke Dace's Emman Bee, another previous course winner who beat fellow entrants Hawk Moth and Elle Rebelle at the track over the same distance on 7th August. Gates open at 12noon and tickets are available on the gate.
