To celebrate the release of The Who's 'Quadrophenia: The Director's Cut' Boxset, The Nomad Cinema invites you to a one-off screening of Quadrophenia at Brighton Racecourse.

This brilliant slice of British history follows the story of a disillusioned London Mod who, in searching for an outlet for his teenage angst, ends up in a bitter feud with rivals, the Rockers. Things come to a head, as they both descend upon the seaside town of Brighton where a series of running battles and violent rioting ensues. Sound a little too familiar in these current times of turmoil? A different era, and a different battle, but a relevant view of youth angst nonetheless.

Perched on a hill overlooking the sea and the legendary Lanes below, Brighton Racecourse will be the setting for this unforgettable cinematic experience. We invite you to bring a picnic, though hot food and a full bar will be available on site. There's ample parking for your scooter (or car) though we advise you bring a cushion or something comfy to sit on. Capacity is strictly limited so book now to avoid disappointment. Tickets cost £10 each and the first 500 people get an exclusive Quadrophenia badge.

Lexi Cinema presents The Nomad is an exciting new roaming pop-up cinema experience touring London, the South East and beyond. The Nomad brings films to life in beautiful and unexpected locations both indoor and out, from castles to theatres, ballrooms to churches, via Royal parks, country estates and many other stunning locations.

Venues include Hampton Court Palace, Leeds Castle, Battersea Park and 21 nights across London's Royal Parks - comprising Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, Greenwich Park and Regent's Park Open Air Theatre to name but a few. The combination of state of the art cinema screens and projectors with stunning settings sets the Nomad experience apart. After screenings across London, Kent, Surrey and Dorset this summer, for one night only The Nomad comes to Brighton.

The Nomad
The Nomad was founded in Summer 2010 by The Lexi Cinema owner Sally Wilton and The Screen On The Green Managing Director (and sometime Actor, Theatre and Panto producer) George Wood. Having collaborated on a mini-season of cinema alfresco events for The Lexi in 2010, the two decided to combine forces and create the country's first year-round roaming cinema.

The Lexi Cinema
The Lexi Cinema in Kensal Rise is the UK's first social enterprise boutique cinema, donating 100% of its profits to charity and staffed predominantly by local volunteers. Founded in 2008, The Lexi has built up a reputation for programming bespoke film events sprinkled with added value including celebrity introductions, goodie bags, treasure hunts, half-time shots of whiskey, massive remote controls, and many other ingenious bits of mischief. Local guerrilla marketing campaigns keep the people of Queens Park and Kensal Rise on their toes. The Lexi launched a membership scheme in Nov 2010, which has proved extremely popular for a small independent cinema, if not only for their lovely Oyster card wallets that they come in. The Lexi's excellent value for money wines have been hand picked by Tony Laithwaite himself (owner of Laithwaites Wines). Those that have tried the Malbec will testify!

'Quadrophenia: The Director's Cut' Boxset

"Quadrophenia is the Who album I am most proud of" - Pete Townshend

"This 2011 revisit to The Who's 1973 Quadrophenia recording is inspired by current and continuing interest in the project," explains Townshend. "The Who performed a concert version of the piece at the Royal Albert Hall in 2010 for the Teenage Cancer Trust with excellent reviews, and the success of that event led to the prospect of a Who tour in 2012 based on the album. The last such tour was between 1996-1997."

The album is scheduled for release via Universal Music Catalogue November 14th 2011. The box set gives a unique insight into the creation of this landmark album and will feature a re-master of the original double album, Pete Townshend's previously unheard demos including songs that didn't make it onto the original album, an exclusive eight track 5.1 sound DVD, a deluxe hard-back book, previously unseen personal notes, photographs, memorabilia and other exclusive material that will be announced over the coming months.
