Management Restructure at Brighton Racecourse and Fontwell Park

Thu, Jan 5, 2012

A management restructure has brought two familiar faces back to Brighton Racecourse.

Phil Bell, the General Manager at the track from 1998 to 2004, has been appointed South East Executive Director by course operators Northern Racing. The role involves overseeing both Brighton and Fontwell Park Racecourses as well as various group sales and PR responsibilities. Bell, 46, has spent the last nine years as General Manager and subsequently Executive Director at Fontwell Park.

Stuart Dorn, a former Events Manager at Brighton Racecourse and Commercial Manager at Fontwell Park, has been appointed as the new Head of Sales and Operations at Brighton. Stuart, 33, has spent the last three years as a regional director for Rentokil Initial and then General Manager with Esporta and Virgin Active Health Clubs.

The new General Manager at Fontwell Park is 28 year old Holly Glover. Holly joins the West Sussex course after a successful year in the same role at Bath Racecourse, another track owned by Northern Racing. Holly has been with the company for six years and her previous roles include Group Commercial Manager and Senior Commercial Manager at Chepstow and Hereford Racecourses.

The management changes were announced today by Northern Racing.

Group Managing Director Tony Kelly said:"The restructure creates a strong team to tackle the many and varied challenges that face both venues. I am delighted to promote both Holly and Phil - and also welcome back Stuart after three years gaining valuable management experience in other businesses."

"We have some exciting new initiatives lined-up for the coming year and I'm looking forward to seeing both venues organising exciting race days and also continuing to develop their conference, venue hire and wedding business."
