Race Meeting Report - May 22nd

There was an exciting finish to the opening 5f sprint handicap when the Malcolm Saunders trained Ginzan held on by a nose from Cut Across. The four year old, ridden by Tom McLaughlin, took a narrow lead after two furlongs but despite being joined inside the final 200 yards, he held on gamely. Ginzan is an ultra consistent performer having finished in the first four in 12 of his 14 runs.

The 1-2f Miliika made light work of the 6f maiden easing to a two and half length victory under Seb Sanders. The Rae Guest trained three year old filly had started her career with an encouraging second of 18 at Doncaster earlier in the month.

Sanders went on to complete a double when Methayal registered her third course and distance win in the fillies' handicap over a mile. The four year old, sent off the 2-1f, is trained by Clive Brittain for owner Saeed Manana.
