What To Wear

A crucial decision for your day at the races.

Dress Code

What should I wear to Brighton races?
At Brighton Racecourse we are quite relaxed, however, we do expect our guests to be considerate of all racegoers. There is no strict dress code, although many visitors choose to dress for the occasion and a smart/casual look is often adopted.

For example, jeans and tailored shorts are perfectly acceptable, but sports shirts, ripped jeans, casual shorts and flip-flops (as we are a seaside town) are not permitted.

Considerations

We recommend that you dress for the weather and wear something comfortable for a day outdoors. Most public areas are suitable for any form of footwear; however, please be aware the centre course does have some grassed areas.

Feature Days

For the glamorous occasions such as Ladies Day and Gentlemen’s Day, racegoers make an extra effort to dress up. It’s definitely worth the effort to dress to impress if you want to be in with a chance of winning some of the fantastic prizes for best outfit!
