Blue skies, sea breeze, big finishes (fingers crossed on the first one): Tuesday 18 May is an afternoon of Flat racing at Brighton Racecourse, and it's horse racing in May with the whole coast laid out in front of you.
By mid-May the season is warming up and the racing has real bite. Watch from the rail as the runners come flying down our hill, jockeys crouched low and the crowd getting louder by the stride. It's over in a flash, so don't blink.
In between, head to the parade ring. You'll be close enough to see the muscles ripple as the horses stroll past.
